Yesterday I Wanted To Change The World
As we awaken, how we see the world and ourselves begins to shift — our consciousness goes through a number of phases. At first, we may be in shock as we as we become aware of all the deceit and manipulation that has been perpetrated by so few on so many in our world. This often leads to anger and an effort to fight against the systems and people that we view as responsible for the injustice of it all.
Many progress beyond this phase as they begin to discover more of their inner truth and begin to realize that anger, resistance, and focusing on the problems out in the world only begets more of same. See Moving Beyond Awakening Shock Syndrome for a deeper exploration of this.
Many progress further and begin to understand that the world is a reflection of their inner state of being and rather than trying to change the world one should focus on changing one's self. They realize that the best service to the world is simply to become a shining example of what they'd like to see in the world. Hand in hand with this is the realization that resistance to things in the outer world only serves to sustain those things. This is the realization that it is only through deep-seated forgiveness, acceptance, allowance, non-judgement, and compassion that the better world that we all dream of can be manifested.
Many great spiritual sages throughout the ages have shared these realizations with us.
And of course, Jesus had plenty to say about forgiveness, acceptance, allowance, non-judgement, and compassion as the higher way of being. Unfortunately, this has mostly fallen on deaf ears, and the history of our world bears testament to it. Thankfully, many are beginning to hear it in the whispers of their heart and their soul, and it's spreading like wildfire.
Love and light,
